The local Color Me Mine franchise in Crestview Town Center is woman-owned and operated and hosts all kinds of events, including private parties, girls night out events, and kid-friendly fun. Every third Thursday is Ladies Night, where ladies of all ages get 20% off.

My favorite thing, though? Walk-ins are welcome! All ceramic pieces—from mugs and dishware to seasonal items and back—are individually priced and can be personalized by painting your own designs and styles, thanks to a wide selection of colors, brush sizes, and so much more. This is such a great idea for a thoughtful, personal gift for a loved one.

How it works: you can walk right in, choose your unpainted ceramic bowl or figurine, and use any variety of brushes, stencils, and paints to customize your piece. A Color Me Mine worker is there to help and answer questions along the way. Once we completed our pieces—pumpkin and Christmas tree for me; rainbow vase and pumpkin for my 4.5-year-old daughter—we left them with Color Me Mine to fire in the kilns they have onsite. It took a week for them to be completed, when they called to let us know we were able to pick them up.

I highly recommend this fun activity with a child or a significant other or friends or as a birthday party. I loved being able to walk right in with my daughter, who loves art, and who was able to create artwork just as I was able to—someone graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and has taken their fair share of art classes.
